Abstract
The rate equations of quantum-well lasers are considered. These equations represent the dynamics of the carrier number in the separate confinement heterostructure layer, the carrier number in the quantum well, and the photon number in the cavity. In this paper, it is shown that for bounded inputs the laser output is bounded. Furthermore, it is shown that for a positive step input, the laser has a stable constant steady-state output
