Abstract
The principle of measurement of the wind vector over the ocean surface using a spaceborne multibeam scatterometer is considered. The possibility of narrowing the ranges of possible wind speeds and directions to find a unique solution is discussed. An algorithm for recovering the wind speed and direction is proposed.
