  • Abstract
In this study we propose a novel concept, “Multi-layer Signal Encoded Tissue Culture Device,” in order to realize the guidance of cell proliferation and differentiation in a 3-dimensional configuration. By utilizing a unique structure named the “Nano-Fibrous Microcapsule”, whose production process was reported in MEMS ´09, we have realized the fabrication of a micro-structured 3-D tissue culturing device. Further on we have succeeded in doping the capsules with additives to demonstrate the viability of the proposed concept.
