Abstract
A very useful multi-sensor airborne surveying system of real time data processing and transmission is being developed. The sensors of the surveying system consist of remote sensing instruments. The processed and compressed data are transmitted to the satellite, and then the receivers on the ground receive the data from the satellite and process and display them. Because of its advantages the Ku-frequency band is used. But the satellite-to-ground path attenuation is very serious because of rain, heavy cloud or other factors. In order to compensate the path attenuation, we have conducted propagation investigations and developed an uplink power control method for the airborne-satellite path.
