Abstract
In this work, the characteristics of methane gas detection have been simulated using extracted data of a PFTIR system. Results of 14 ppm of gas methane concentration produced by a leakage to distances of 1000 mts were obtained. Our model of detection in passive way proposes as new implementation the use of natural heat of the surface ground as infrared radiation source in the interval 20-50degC. The use of helicopter for the aerial remote detection is also proposed. In addition these system allows the global location, the video and the infrared photo capture at the moment of detection
