  • Abstract
The paper presents a computer-oriented analysis and procedure for computation of the dynamic motion of free conducting particles in insulating liquids under alternating voltage at different frequencies. The analysis contains the charge simulation technique to compute the electric lifting field for any conducting particle shape with parallel plate electrode arrangement. Numerical solution of the nonlinear dynamic equations of the particle motion has been carried out and graphically visualized. The opposing viscous force is the most significant component and is dissipated in the medium as fluid drag. This study includes the influence of the most important design parameters on the particle motion, such as applied voltage magnitude and frequency, particle density and dimensions, liquid density and restitution coefficient
