Abstract
We analyze very short meander monopole antennas working in the FM band, showing advantages of lower noise and higher efficiency when compared to a single monopole of the same height. Capacitance is compensated by an external series inductance, allowing a convenient voltage divider to the amplifier input. We have designed and constructed antenna prototypes, and we show measured and simulated data.
