Abstract
When designing induction motor series, resource economies are considered to be the main trends, implying induction motor material capacity decrease, and technical and economic indices improvement. The analysis of electrical machine series development shows that mass-overall dimension indices decrease was first reached due to electrical and magnetic load increase and new materials application. The author proposes a new way of decreasing induction motor material capacity in design and manufacturing-spread decrease of quality indices. Spread influence of quantitative estimation on induction motor mass overall dimension indices has been performed for induction motors IIER-118 with pole number 2p=2,4,6. If spread decreases twice during manufacturing compared with the existing one mass decrease 10-15% in steel and 4-6% in copper occurs in this case, that is quite commensurable with capacity decrease during transition from 4I to IIER series
