Abstract
We develop Europium complexes and are now integrating them covalently into the polymer chains of PMMA. Monomer free polymer preforms are prepared, from which optical fibers are drawn. Our aim is to use these fibers as optical amplifiers at about 614 nm for in-house communication systems. In this paper we present the current state of the material development as well as optical measurements.
