  • Abstract
    Research progress on wavelength-division-multiplexing (WDM) optical interconnects for future highperformance system in package is introduced. A key issue is optical coupling between free-space waves and guided waves. An embedded micromirror and a grating coupler integrated with a cavity resonator are demonstrated. Aperture miniaturization of guided mode resonance filter is also discussed to construct a new type of VCSEL for relaxing alignment accuracy in optical packaging.
