Historical outlook of research activities through the Symposium on Electrical Insulating Materials

The authors describe the main stream of academic insulating-materials research in Japan from the point of view of the history of the Symposium on Electric Insulating Materials. The symposium started in 1968 and has been held every autumn. The symposium was organized by several pioneer researchers of electrical insulating materials.
