Abstract
This paper describes a new approach to the synthesis of unequally spaced arrays, based on an inversion algorithm that obtains the array currents and element spacings from the specified far-zone electric field. The procedure is unique in that it gives an analytical expression for the appropriate array element positions, given the upper and lower bounds of the adjacent element spacing.
