    The author describes a remote prepayment meter developed by Northern Electric in conjunction with Philips. It is called the Credit Management Unit (CMU). The CMU utilises a dedicated telephone line. The author describes the customer liquid crystal display and the information given. The author describes a show house display which uses radio telemeter elements. For this unit the author describes the hardware of this system
