Abstract
The successful reduction of resistance attained by using the Franklin-Mingsheng long effective agent for reducing resistance (909) produced by the Chengdu Mingsheng Chemical Factory demonstrates that compound materials for resistance reduction can be used in many aspects of modern grounding technology. The Franklin-Mingsheng agent is easy to use and effective in reducing ground resistance, especially for railway tunnels where it is difficult to bury ground conductors at a great depth or for an extended distance. The utilization of the agent saved a great quantity of steel. For the test in the middle of the Liang-fong-ya tunnel, the ratio of grounding resistance reduction obtained was 82.4%
