Abstract
Describes an analysis of the trade-offs to be gained from a technique known as soft handover as applied to a wideband DS-CDMA system. This macroscopic diversity approach to handover is studied using channel information using a fast Fourier transform, dual sounder system. The channel impulse response data obtained from propagation trials is post-processed using both hard and soft handover algorithms and the results are presented along with the future work activities of the project
