Abstract
Edge detection is the base of the image measuring, image segmentation, image compressing and pattern recognition, and so on. The existing edge detection methods are analyzed, and the SUSAN filter and edge detection with embedded confidence are studied respectively. Then a new method based on SUSAN filter and embedded confidence is proposed. This new algorithm combines them to realize respective value. The experimental results show that this algorithm is more robust to noise and is rich in feature content and accurate. The algorithm has terribly capacious developed foreground
