Abstract
This paper presents a study making an analysis of thermal plant implantation into the Brazilian South/Southeast/West interconnected power systems. Thus, an evaluation is given of the influence of some local parameters, in order to evaluate the best site for building the thermal power station. In addition to the site selection considerations, an economic risks analysis in the new scenario of the Brazilian electrical energy trading activity is carried out
