Abstract
One of the most difficult stages in building knowledge based systems (KBSs) is that of organising the knowledge gained from human experts and other sources into the coherent, unambiguous structure of a domain. There are at present no generally accepted or well established guidelines for achieving such a goal. The authors argue that there is a need for a methodological approach to knowledge analysis. They propose a methodology for knowledge analysis called SAAGS based on their understanding of how human knowledge is organised and underpinned by conceptually rich theoretical foundations
