Abstract
This project involves the designing of a new device WiRo (wireless intelligent router) which is used for non-IP based routing process. This WiRo uses 802.11 standards and supports different LAN and WAN protocols. A new non-IP wireless routing protocol is designed for the device. The key feature of this protocol is that IP address is not for routing purposes and the hosts of different network can also communicate. This increases security in the network and solves all security problems faced in the present wireless networking. This new technique uses IEEE 802.11 standards as a base and forms a new concept of networking. The WiRo also uses a distance determination protocol (DDP) which is used to find the distance between each node according to the signal strength. Hence the main advantage of the WiRo is that usage of this device makes the network fully meshed, hence increasing the reliability and robustness of the network.
