Abstract
This paper describes the simulation of a 34 kV feeder from Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E)´s distribution network. This feeder has a problem of being disconnected due to relay operation at the time of energization. A simulation model is created using PSCAD/EMTDC®, and validated using the test results provided by PG&E. Based on the simulations, some observations about the phenomenon are made to get a deeper insight in to the problem. A simplified feeder model is also created and validated for quick modeling of other feeders on PG&E´s network.
