Abstract
It is shown that the sandwich wire antenna can be adjusted to work well not only at broadside but near endfire. Thus, the designer can place the beam of this antenna from angles near backfire to near endfire, including broadside. The sandwich wire antenna is scannable to almost any angle from -90 degrees to 90 degrees . It is lightweight, easy to design and manufacture, and can include a radome within its structural design. Experimental results demonstrate the antenna´s versatility. Several models have been built at S-, C- and X-band with the main beam maximum pointing between 40 degrees to 75 degrees and results are presented showing good radiation characteristics.<>
