  • Abstract
The authors explain the distinction between the user interface (UI), the sensory-motor interface (SMI) and the application interface (AI). There are two trends in human computer interface standards: SMI standardisation and software productivity. They propose a reference model based on a structuring principle, to serve as a framework for generating UI standards
