  • Abstract
    A Ka-band gyrotron traveling wave amplifier operating in the TE11 circular mode has been presented. The effects of the parameters such as input power, driver frequency and velocity ratio on the performance of the gyro-TWT ares discussed. The simulation results show that the gain and the bandwidth of the designed Ka-band gyro-TWT is about 54.0 dB and 2.5 GHz with 3 dB bandwidth respectively. The peak output power and the corresponding electron efficiency is about 94 kW and 22.4% respectively with the voltage 70 kV and the current 6 A at the velocity ratio 1.0.
