  • Abstract
    A multi-transputer processor designed for the tasks of performing high level image processing algorithms and overall system management is discussed. The partitioning of a complete image processing system containing such a processor and its required interfaces is described. Hardware and software performance requirements are explained and details of achieved performance given. It is concluded that a processor such as that to be described is suitable for use in very high speed image processing systems and that under some circumstances, it is also possible to perform ancillary tasks within the processor
