Abstract
Roxarsone is an organic arsenic compound existing extensively in animal wastewater, while multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) is a good adsorbent for the removal of trace organic pollutants from aqueous solution. In this study, the effect of various experimental parameters, such as adsorbent content, initial pH, ionic strength and temperature was investigated using batch adsorption experiment. The results show that MWCNTs is an effective adsorbent for the removal of roxarsone from aqueous solution. The maximum adsorption capacity is 9.355 mg/g at 20°C. The adsorption of roxarsone from aqueous solution onto MWCNTs was spontaneous, exothermic, and followed Freundlich isotherms.
