Abstract
This paper presents performance evaluation of antenna selection capability proposed in IEEE 802.16e (Amendment of IEEE 802.16-2004 standard for combined Fixed and Mobile Broadband Wireless Access operation in licensed band), under 2048 points orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) mode of operation. It is shown that channel condition plays significant role on the amount of gain achievable by the scheme. Modification to the selection method is proposed and additional gain achieved is demonstrated. Measurements under different signal to noise ratio (SNR) values for different channel models are analysed. Results of the experimental studies are then summarised
