  • Abstract
    Considering the problem of effective combination and efficient organization in Product Configuration Design, a method of Product Self-Organizing Configuration Design (PSOCD) is present in which the construction and combination of Configuration Design Unit (CU) are mainly researched. Starting with the description of CU, a model of combination base upon fractal is studied and a computing method of self similarity is defined for Configuration Design Unit with different granularity. Meantime, some rules of combination are constructed and the combining process of CDU is analyzed. At last, Vehicle Leaf-Spring is taken as an example to research the process of combination in Self-Organizing Configuration Design of Vehicle Leaf-Spring so as to further testify the effectiveness of the method.
