Abstract
The advantages of fiber optic applications in mining works are examined, the main specific transmission applications are studied, and an integrated digital network project is presented. The integrated digital network permits the transmission of a great variety of signals such as telephony, data, and video from and to the mining processes. The network uses optical fibers as the medium of transmission and digital MUX/DMUX to frame the signals
