  • Abstract
    From the start the Maintenance Management at Kilroot Power station (KPS) had defined the role of planning as assisting in providing an effective and economical service of: (1) work control by scheduling and organising the resources; (2) plant condition control by records and analysis; and (3) maintenance costs control by budgetary forecasting and analysis using the technology and resources at hand. To this end, the information processing systems inherited and initiated by the planning function at KPS were adapted and set up to be capable of computer aided interface. The future impact of IT on maintenance work control is also considered
