Abstract
It is shown that existing relational database technologies can be used to construct expert systems that satisfy model-solver-data independence. The authors first describe the Arizona State University Model Management System (ASUMMS). They then describe how to incorporate expertise (knowledge) into the ASUMMS modeling environment. Finally, a prototype expert system for forecasting using relational database technologies is discussed
