Abstract
Currently, grid becomes increasingly a huge system, which contains a multitude of resources such as CPUs, memories, databases, software and so on. In most cases, the users only need limited resources in their work instead of all the resources in the grid, so it is a new problem in grid computing. Therefore, we propose a novel architecture for deploying e-Science on top of grid platform. And we design and implement the resources redescription and deployment middleware (RMS), which provides a way to select special application requirements according to several key metrics about resources in deployList. The deployList, which provides a way for users, in XML format, to describe several key sub-specifications about resources management in grid application environment with users\´ own interests. Through this method, the users can single out their requisite resources among the whole grid resources. As a result, users can work always in a "small and feat" grid environment.
