Abstract
Single-phase electronic loads in office buildings produce triplen harmonic currents which summate in the neutral conductor. The selection of busbar systems must take these currents into account. Through the use of theory and measurements, the understanding of heat circulation due to harmonic currents leads to a better knowledge of harmonic current carrying capability of busbar systems. As a result, the optimum current rating can be selected. A standard busbar system selected using this approach is a better solution than a 200% neutral with special construction.
