Abstract
An innovative design of high-pressure xenon (HPXe) gamma-ray detector without Frish grid provides a marked improvement in vibration insensitivity and manufacturability over that demonstrated the gridded designs. This paper focuses on the architecture and performance of a Mirmar Sensor 1.5" gridless HPXe detector. This discussion includes descriptions of the hardware and software features necessary to implement a gridless detector design. Performance data is presented that demonstrates 2% resolution for 137Cs and a seven-fold improvement in microphonic rejection over previous designs.
