  • Abstract
    Properly optimised kinoforms are theoretically almost ideal elements for space-invariant optical interconnection. The authors analyse the required fabrication accuracy of the phase relief structure and the effects of nonlinearity in the recording material by numerical simulations. Results of some initial experiments on the fabrication of kinoforms on dichromated gelatin, using a new type of exposure system, are presented
