Abstract
Distributions of several small-scale descriptors of the urban wideband mobile radio channel are presented. These distributions show the large variability in reception conditions within a medium-sized UK city. Where possible, comparisons with previous measurements are presented, and differences between the sets of results are thought to be due to differences in the measurement sites and statistical sample size. Based on these distributions, and analytical expressions available in the literature, irreducible error rates for digital transmissions in urban locations can be determined
