Abstract
The author considers the problem of rapid IN service development, taking the whole development lifecycle into consideration, from initial service invention to final network deployment of a validated service. Service development is considered as consisting of four major stages: service invention, service definition, service production, and service integration. Each of these stages is discussed together with an integrated rapid service development environment developed by GPT. It has a comprehensive set of tools which assist the service developer at each stage of the service development process
