Abstract
The prime objective of third generation mobile systems is to achieve a fully integrated digital mobile satellite/terrestrial communications network, capable of supporting voice and data communications throughout the world in either a satellite, cellular or cordless environment. The authors highlight some of the issues that need to be taken into account when considering integrating a LEO system with a terrestrial network
