  • Abstract
Raytheon and i-Logix have conducted a joint project and studied the feasibility of using VHDL as the transition vehicle from the system level specification to detailed design. The results of test cases are promising in that the generated VHDL code maps directly to the specification. The generated VHDL code has a consistent style and a readable and highly structured format. The process of developing the VHDL code was quicker, and the VHDL code and the testbenches fit within the system
