Abstract
The finite electrical bandwidth of a digital coherent transceiver constrains the maximum FEC overhead. We investigate through simulations of a 100GbE system employing PDM-QPSK the impact that electrical bandwidth has on the optimal code rate which minimizes the required OSNR.
