  • Abstract
    This paper summarizes some approaches suitable for road traffic safety evaluation and analyzes the current research situation in this area worldwide. The weight determination approaches are analyzed from objective and subjective sides, and the comprehensive evaluation approaches are discussed based on micro and macro points. In addition, a method to choose the best approach is suggested. Lastly, the development trend of the approaches is discussed, that provides important theoretical foundation for the road traffic safety evaluation.
