  • Abstract
A technique that has been used for solving large-scale frequency assignment problems involving multiple constraints is described. The model has a modular construction that enables it to be adapted to a variety of assignment problems. The major contribution is an effective procedure for exploiting all of the assignment constraints to define a sequence in which the assignment requests should be processed. A number of examples are presented that illustrate how the techniques can be used to achieve the assignment objectives.<>
