Abstract
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is the underlying system of Library Management System (LMS). The deployment of RFID with LMS in a library will require a huge budget, expertise, understanding and man power to maintain the overall RFID-LMS. The cost is one of the major factors influencing whether or not RFID will be accepted in libraries. The RFID technology will also provide a comprehensive route for enhancing the library services and upgrade operations for everyone concerned with the library. The collaboration between librarians and Information Technology Officers are very decisive for the approach of RFID-LMS. The paper presents the conducted scenario of practical approach to the RFID and LMS in the library. This paper is strengthening on the determinants of RFID-LMS focusing on Universities´ Academic Library. The ensuing discussion will assist the library professionals on practical implementation to the RFID and LMS.
