  • Abstract
This paper proposes a modeling scheme for dam-breach of Tangjiashan Quake Lake. Firstly, a water level forecasting model based on weather forecast and delayed effect of rainwater is built. Secondly, a dam-breach model based on OE2ED methodology is developed including several factors such as hydraulic, sediment transport, geometry characteristic and reservoir capacity as well as flow. Finally, a simplified dam-break wave model was developed to simulate the flood evolution and evaluate the risk of downstream countries. Simulation results show that the suggested scheme provides better performance for making emergency decision and evaluating the risk.
