Abstract
This paper presents a path integral solution to the problem of paraxial radiowave propagation over terrain. The analysis inherently takes into account the reflected, space and diffracted waves, and considers finite impedance rough ground. The solution is in the form of a series of one-dimensional integrals which incorporate the Fresnel integral. An accurate numerical method for evaluating these integrals is described. The accuracy of the propagation model is verified by comparison of its path loss predictions with laboratory experimental results and with field measurements over two real terrain profiles (one with line of sight), which can be approximated by four linear segments
