  • Abstract
    In this paper, a synchronous single-ended primary-inductance DC-DC converter (SEPIC) is designed and simulated within a photovoltaic stand-alone system. This converter has high efficiency of energy transfer from the generator to the load compared to conventional converters; it can maintain the output voltage constant without using the closed loop model. The diode in the converter is replaced by a PWM controlled switch to make the operating better by avoiding the discontinuous conduction mode and saving the diode´s inverse voltage. The converter has been simulated in Matlab/Simulink platform; the results show that the performance of the designed SEPIC converter is surely better than the performance of classical models.
