  • Abstract
Emergence is usually used to denote a collective phenomenon in which the whole organization behaves differently than the sum of its elements. We first present some general ideas about emergence, then recall some useful definitions in the fields of machine learning and constraint satisfaction problems, and finally present our work on constraint acquisition as a generalization process.
