Abstract
The integration of generation into a distribution system requires considerable care. Here, the author raises some issues of importance to the electricity supply industry and private generators. An appreciable amount of such generation already exists and has been operating satisfactorily for many years, particularly at large industrial plants. With the advent of privatisation, however, the reasons for, and the nature of, new generation plant has changed considerably. This change has stimulated some new thinking and raised questions about existing practices
