Abstract
The dc-motor was utilized to emulate the wind turbine to drive the squirrel-cage induction generator for the power generating of the full-scale wind power converter system. On the basis of the mathematical model of the grid-side PWM converter and generator-side induction generator, the voltage orientation control strategy was adopted to control the grid-side converter and vector control strategy was applied to control the generator-side converter. The outer voltage-loop and inner current-loop PI regulator parameters of the grid-side converter and the outer speed-loop and inner current-loop PI regulator parameters for generator controller were designed independently. The experiment was performed on the platform and the experimental results show that the control strategy can control the induction generator running smoothly and has the advantages of easy adjustment of grid power factor and none impulse current when connecting to the grid.
