Abstract
This paper introduces a new signal processing algorithm which enables the optimum coherent Neyman-Pearson radar receiver presented by Lovli (see International Radar Conference, Washington DC, USA, 1995), SOLVEIG1, to be implemented in real-time. As the required processing power increases exponentially with the number of pulses to be integrated, the basic SOLVEIG1 may only be utilised for a very low number of pulses. With MONICA it will be possible to use the optimum receiver structure for coherent dwells of lengths found in current long-range search radar
