  • Abstract
Electromagnetic shakers for vibration test applications form a class of electrical machine whose operating conditions generally combine: (a) operation over a wide frequency range (e.g. 5 Hz to 2 kHz); (b) relatively high volt-amps (e.g. 10 kVA); (c) a high degree of linearity between electrical input and mechanical output (e.g. less than 1% harmonic distortion with sine input). Here, the authors present the analysis and design of EM machine-based moving coil vibration generators
